600+ Ways to Make Money from Sticky Notes

In the UNLV class I’m currently teaching, the midterm is a challenge that we started at the beginning of the semester. The challenge was to take a stack of sticky notes and generate real money by doing something that involved the sticky notes.

The key is not to focus on the sticky note, figure out what other assets you have at your disposal and figure out how the sticky notes can support those assets or be supported by those assets.

The students were then given the task of coming up with 50-100 ideas each regarding how they could get it done, this is the culmination of all their submissions (some are way better than others!):

Have your family or friends give you a lot of stacks of white paper – and colored paper. Make paper dresses. It takes a lot of time and effort but it is something someone would buy!
Make mini polaroid photo picture frames – Cut the sticky note to make it the size of a polaroid photo and design it, to make it a cute small picture frame!
Walk to Local Businesses and Offer To Make Flyers for them for money – Have them write down their contact info on the sticky-note
Turn them into note-cards. Go into class, if any classmate doesn’t have anything to write notes on – Sell them for 50 cents each.
Get multiple packs of sticky notes – Design them to be coasters. Sell a pack of coasters made from sticky-notes for $1 each.
Make paper flags! LGBT Flags, flags from different countries, etc. Sticky notes come in all sorts of colors and sell them!
Make a variety of different things with paper – Table in the free-speech zone on-campus and sell them to college students.
Make paper purses! They are very famous on eBay and esty! Make multiple varieties and sell them! They would make money!
Sneak into a house and clog a toilet with them and be a plumber too so they call you to unclog it and they pay you
Make money with ad-revenue by making sticky-note videos on tik-tok. – Tik tok is very famous nowadays!
Collect so many sticky notes (used or unused), go to a recycling plant that pays people, and get paid
Make stickers and sell them. Whether they’re political stickers, LGBT+ stickers, anime stickers, etc.
Ask Kenny what people did in the past and use a version of that and innovate it for our benefit.
Make paper lamp shades! It’s a great idea. It takes a lot of effort, but would definitely sell!
Sketch Manga on the sticky-notes! Anime is very popular nowadays! That would definitely sell.
We already have paper coffee filters – Use sticky notes and make different colored versions!
Make paper wallets and design them with arts and crafts material. – Sell them for $1.50 each
Create scientific and anatomical models to be sold as science projects to desperate students
Organize talent show event and use sticky notes as table name reservations (pay to enter)
Make ring-cases with sticky notes! Make them with sticky-notes, decorate them, sell them!
Organize a “treasure/scavenger” hunt with sticky notes offering the clues (pay to enter)
Organize a musical chairs event with sticky notes as participant numbers (pay to enter)
Look at the neighbor app and see if there’s something for free that we can trade later.
Write your phone number on it and tell people you’re a Nigerian prince when they call.
Write down details of highly criminal activities, sell off to them as extortion money
Organize a “horror escape room” event with sticky notes as hints/items (pay to enter)
Make paper bracelets with the sticky notes and other arts and crafts. Sell those too.
Make a youtube channel for UNLV and advertise the campus while partnering with CSUN.
Donate a bunch of packs of sticky notes to goodwill – They’ll give you store credit.
Use multiple sticky notes and make paper picture frames. – Sell them for $1 each.
Use a variety of different colored sticky notes and make wall art – Then sell it.
Stick them to your backpack and sell them to other people so they can do the same
Make them into membership cards for each member of private club (paid membership)
