The Bicycle Thief 1948

August 10, 2008 by Kenny Eliason Leave a Comment

This movie is about a father who would do anything to support his family. When he’s offered a job that would require him to get a bike to be able to travel to the location, he quickly did what he needed to do in order to get the job. When he loses the bike, then he had to do everything he could to get it back.

This movie was kind of hard for me to enjoy… I realize it is most famous for its simplicity with just regular people acting and not professional actors. But in my mind, this is also what made the movie weak. The people did good acting, just not as amazing as I like to see. Also it was really hard for me to enjoy because of the different language and having to read sub-titles. This movie definitely did not make my top movie list. It was ok, but nothing that I would willingly watch again.
