This movie is the classic of classics. Like many people, I grew up watching this film and it is still good every time. Judy Garland of course does an amazing job in acting out the little school girl Dorothy. It is a fun film that tells the story about Dorothy’s dream about a better place “somewhere over the rainbow”. Her trek along with the scarecrow, tin man, and the lion down the yellow brick road is full of many different adventures that take them on an amazing journey.
The more interesting part to me is the political allegory that is taking place in the movie. How Dorothy represents all of the regular American population, while her fellow journeymen represent various political leaders of the time. I don’t believe the author of this story has ever admitted to having created the similitude on purpose, but none the less it still exists. This movie has withstood the test of time that is for sure. It will forever be a classic for generations to come.
